Laura Angélica Gamboa Cavazos

Laura holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Universidad de Monterrey with a specialty in intaglio engraving from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Polytechnic University of Valencia in Spain. She has a postgraduate degree in European Urban Cultures from the Free University of Brussels, the University of Tilburg, University of Manchester and the University of Art and Design in Helsinki; she also has a master's degree in Rural Tourism from the University of Buenos Aires. She obtained a diploma in Art Therapy from Universidad Autonoma de Mexico and the Centro Integral de Terapia de Arte, as well as in Art Medicine for Bipolarity and Depression. Currently she is studying a diploma in emotional regulation through the arts.

She has knowledge in International Baccalaureate, Montessori, Waldorf and Reggio Emilia pedagogies, as well as training in emotional education and animal welfare for sustainability.

She worked as coordinator of educational services at the Metropolitan Museum of Monterrey where she developed projects with various cultural and educational institutions. She has experience in cultural management, development of programs in artistic, social and sustainable education.

She is currently the director of the Humanities Academy of the six high school campuses of the Universidad de Monterrey where she coordinates a team of professors teaching the subjects of film, theater, visual arts and philosophy; she has taught visual arts in the Diploma Program, the Career-related Program, the Middle Years Program and the Elementary School Program of the International Baccalaureate Organization. She is a visual arts examiner for the same. She works independently in different fields such as teaching art workshops, courses based on expressive arts and healing through the arts, as well as arts-based environmental education. Research in the process as art and the importance of art in early childhood.

She collaborates with other international institutions as a volunteer in the selection of films for the Canadian Environmental Film Festival and as a mentor for the International POP-UP Festival Program (coordinated by Six Seconds and UNICEF) that focuses on creating emotional intelligence activities for children and youth.
