Lidya Chrisfens

Lidya Chrisfens is a fashion educator, designer, and researcher with over two decades of industry and academic experience. She is the Technical Lead in the BA Fashion Design & Textiles programme at LASALLE College of the Arts, Singapore, where she teaches fashion-making with a focus on creative pattern cutting, digital fashion, and sustainable design practices. Holding an MA in Arts Pedagogy and Practice with Distinction, her teaching champions experimentation, embodied knowledge, and future-facing design education.

Her research operates at the intersection of fashion, performance, and philosophy, drawing from phenomenology to explore how memory, emotion, and material sensibility shape the act of making. Her signature blind-draping methodology, developed in 2020, has gained international recognition for reframing how design can emerge through tactile perception rather than visual intent. Her research continues to be presented at major international conferences and published in the years to come.
